StyleNote 1.5.0

In 1.5.0, I basically rewrote parts of the note editor to improve some of the editing "behaviors". The apparent changes may be subtle and are actually hard to explain in words. Consider this as a technical update. :)

A more apparent addition would be the new option which allows users to choose whether to insert new notes at the start or the end of the list. You can find that option in the Setup/info screen. I hope you would find it useful.

On another note, I am now working on the third project for the Nice Simple Widget family - a nice simple photo widget. Hopefully I can release the first version of it this week or the next.

OK. Here is full changelog of StyleNote 1.5.0. Enjoy. :D
Version 1.5.0:

- Rewrote the note editor for improved editing
- New feature: Option to choose whether to insert new notes at the start or the end of the list
- Fixed a potential error
- Attempted to fix an issue related to note-saving

  1. Suggestions to changes and features: Let the word Title and Note Body disappear when you start writing. I miss an option to auto sync my note with Skydrive, DropBox or Google Drive, in standard rtf format that is.

  2. Thanks for your suggestions. I have put them into my to-do list.

In particular I will see what I can do with the note sync part as a number of users seem to be interested in that. Probably I will try to add an option to allow a note linked to (i.e. in sync with) a file on the SD card so that it can be monitored by those online storage programs and be uploaded automatically. I will then have to figure out a good way to automatically import the updated note file back into the StyleNote database.

This is a big change, so probably that would take me a while. :)

  3. Just want to post an update here: after discussing with other users and doing some more thinking, I decided not to make the title/note body disappears when one starts writing. However, I did 2 changes trying to enlarge the editing area: The ads now will be hidden when the user is writing (since 1.5.4), also the app title is removed (since 1.5.6). These 2 changes should make the editing area large enough.

  4. The one thing i feel that this app is missing is scrollable widgets so that you can read the note on your widget by scrolling through it, without having to go into the app to do it.

  5. Thanks for your suggestion. It is noted. It would require some new buttons on the widget for scrolling up/down the note on it. (homescreen widget scrolling is not natively supported by the Android system)

A related change that I want to implement first is making the launch of the note editor (possibly in read-only mode) from the homescreen widget easier. Currently, two clicks are required: one for opening up the action menu from the widget, and another one for choosing the "Edit Note" option from the menu. I plan to add an option that allows opening the scrollable note editor in one-click. Maybe that would be good enough without having to add new buttons? We will see. :)
